What you'll learn: Wheel Throwing Fundamentals: Learn to center clay, create basic forms like cylinders and bowls, and explore the magic of shaping objects on the wheel. Beyond the Basics: For those with experience, we'll delve into more complex forms, refining your throwing techniques and expanding your creative possibilities. Clay & Tools: Understand the characteristics of different clay bodies and how to select the right one for your project. We'll also cover essential wheel throwing tools and their uses. Creative Exploration: Experiment with surface decoration techniques to add unique personality to your pieces. Who should attend: This class welcomes adults of all skill levels, from complete beginners to those with some wheel throwing experience. What to bring: Beginners: An eagerness to learn and experiment! Experienced Potters: A basic understanding of wheel throwing and a desire to refine your skills. Everyone: Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. Please note: In this course, clay must be purchased from Platypus Ceramics Inc. The cost is per bag and includes in-house dipping glazes, underglazes, underglaze transfers, and all firings. Join us for this exciting pottery experience and unleash your creativity on the wheel!

Cancellation Policy

Understanding the Nature of Clay Clay is a unique material that requires specific conditions to be workable. Its moisture content and the timing of each step in the pottery process are crucial. To ensure the best possible experience for all of our students, we must adhere to a strict class schedule. Non-Refundable Policy Due to the nature of our classes and the time-sensitive nature of working with clay, all class enrollments and event registrations are non-refundable. We Understand Life Happens We recognize that unexpected events can occur, and we want to be as accommodating as possible. Therefore, we offer one make-up class per course registration for a fee of $35. 48-Hour Notification Required To be eligible for a make-up class, you must notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled class time. This allows us to adjust our materials and prepare for your attendance. Thank You We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
